ConsentRebels is rooted in the belief that consent is not just about "yes" or "no" but a practice of deep listening, care, and interdependence. It invites us to examine the hidden forces—like power dynamics and societal expectations—that shape our choices, desires, and boundaries. By cultivating awareness, we can begin to reconnect with ourselves and each other in meaningful, authentic ways.
Consent practice requires courage: the courage to face guilt for benefitting from oppressive systems, the pain of feeling constrained by them, and the vulnerability of acknowledging how we show up in our relationships. Through radical honesty, we can begin healing the disconnections within ourselves and with others, recognizing that consent is always a shared responsibility.
This work is grounded in anti-capitalist, anti-carceral, anti-colonial, and anti-patriarchal values. It challenges the oppressive systems that encourage exploitation, domination, and hyper-individualism by fostering communities of care, mutual respect, and collective growth. Listening deeply to our body-mind-spirits—and to the ancestral and societal forces that shape them—allows us to step away from control and toward trust, healing, and interdependence.
Consent isn’t about perfection or mastery. It’s messy, imperfect, and deeply relational. By letting go of rigid ideals and embracing shared vulnerability, we can honor the wisdom within ourselves and each other. This creates space for solidarity and resistance against oppressive ideologies, opening pathways to radical, interconnected futures. Inspired by Prentis Hempshill, Mia Schachter, Eroticsofliberation and many other amazing people working within the field of collective liberation, somatics and consent, I follow the belief that boundaries should serve to expand our capacities for connection and mutual care. Knowing and communicating our boundaries is not about avoiding conflict, insteads it about creating a secure and loving relationship with oneself and others allowing for our differences, creating a space from which I can be with you and with myself at the same time, lovingly.
Together, we can nurture the confidence to honor our capacities and boundaries, reclaim agency, and resist systems that thrive on exploitation. Through consent, we can create the loving, interdependent communities necessary to imagine and build a better world.
My mission is to create spaces for us to grow together through radical tenderness and care. I believe in (im)perfection through collaboration and growing together. My perspective and my teachings are limited to my experiences and the wisdoms stored in my body-mind-spirit. I have learned and continue to learn a lot from Queer, Crip, Trans, BIPOC activists, healers, academics, writers and artists and I hope to be able to give back to and build on the rich archives of knowledge and practices already out there. I try to make my work as accessible as possible and to do my best to create spaces that are liberatory and anti-colonial - I am learning along the way, growing, failing, improving... All critique, suggestions and feedback is welcome in the spirit of growing together.
